Senior AccountantJob order - J1124-0306 - Regular Full-TimeTitleSenior AccountantCategoryFinanceCityPort Moody, British Columbia, CanadaSalary Range:$46.20 - $49.70/HourClosing Date:November 14, 2024Job DescriptionThe City of Port Moody has an excellent opportunity for a high energy, customer-oriented accounting professional to provide a wide range of computer-based accounting functions within a complex accounting environment. While providing customer service excellence, your responsibilities will include: maintaining the General Ledger, preparing working papers, year-end financial statements, liaising with the City?s auditors, preparing a variety of reports and reconciliations, ongoing development and maintenance of the reporting of the City?s assets, assisting with the budget process, maintaining all financial software systems, providing informal direction to accounting staff and acting for the Manager when absent. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and a good team player with strong communication skills. The candidate will have demonstrated ability in developing and maintaining positive working relationships with external/internal clients.Basic QualificationsBachelors degree and completion of the first year of the CPA PEP program, or equivalent Minimum two years of job-related experience in a complex accounting environment Knowledge of the principles, procedures, policies and regulations of professional accounting practices Proficiency with financial software applications and experience preparing complex spreadsheets Experience with annual operating and capital budgets, and asset management sustainability practices Ability to prepare, verify and analyze a variety of financial data Effective time management, communication and organizational skillsPlease note that employment at the City of Port Moody is subject to the receipt of a satisfactory police information check and satisfactory driver's abstract.The city of Port Moody strives to be an employer of choice and offers an excellent benefits package as well as professional development and, for some positions, hybrid work opportunities.Reference 296222Click here to apply- LocationPort Moody, BC
