The company specializes in the use of advanced technologies for the refurbishment of super alloy components.</p><p><span>Position Summary:</span></p><p>The successful candidate will become part of a multi-disciplinary team of highly motivated individuals engaged in the analysis and repair of gas turbine hot section components at our Dundas facility. This position offers:</p><ul><li>A wide range of projects and work environments (materials laboratory, manufacturing facility)</li><li>Creative expression in solving engineering problems</li><li>Opportunities for education and career growth through courses, seminars and conferences</li></ul><p>Primary Activities in the role include:</p><ul><li>Metallurgical investigations (condition assessments and failure analysis)</li><li>Materials selection</li><li>Development of material specifications</li><li>Design and execution of experiments and data analysis pursuant to the development of new and improved materials (weld and braze fillers, coatings) and manufacturing processes</li></ul><p><span>Relevant Experience:</span></p><p><span> </span></p><p><span>We are looking for an engineer or engineer-in-training with a minimum of two years of experience in the materials engineering field. </span></p><p>The skills and aptitudes needed for the position are as follows:</p><ul><li><span>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills</span></li><li><span>Fluency in English is required</span></li><li><span>Strong self-management and organizational skills </span></li><li><span>Initiative and ability to multi-task</span></li></ul><p><span>General experience/knowledge in the following areas is considered relevant to the position:</span></p><ul><li><span>Metallurgical sample preparation.</span></li><li><span>Microscopy (optical and scanning electron microscopy).</span></li><li><span>Mechanical testing of materials.</span></li><li><span>Phase transformations in materials (thermodynamic and mass transport phenomena).</span></li><li><span>Corrosion of materials.</span></li></ul><p><span>Interested candidates can email their resume to resume@liburdi.com and indicate Materials Engineer and the reference number <strong>KW11072024 </strong>in the subject line.</span></p><p><span>Only qualified candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.</span></p><p><span> </span>Liburdi is an equal opportunity employer, and we welcome and encourage applications from people with disabilities.
