* *Overview*
* We are looking for a person to take over our Accounts Payable office duties when our current person retires at the end of this year.
*Responsibilities*
* Process accounts payable transactions, including verifying invoices, entering data into the accounting system, issuing payments.
* Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable activities and ensure compliance with company policies.
* Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
* Assist with month-end closing activities by preparing reports related to accounts payable.
* Collaborate with internal departments to address inquiries related to payments and invoices.
* Support payroll processing as needed.
* Utilize accounting software - Sage BV Small Business.
* Ensure adherence to deadlines for payment processing while maintaining high accuracy.
*Skills*
* Proficiency in accounting software - we use Sage BV Small Business, and Microsoft Office.
* Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and procedures.
* Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
* Familiarity with accounts receivable functions is a plus.
* Strong communication skills for effective interaction with vendors.
* Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities to address discrepancies or issues that may arise.
*Work Environment and Company Description:*
We are a family owned and managed electrical/automation company, and consider ourselves a "medium" small business. Our work environment is extremely casual, with multiple dogs and cats on site. We are looking for an individual that likes this kind of atmosphere. While we operate Monday-Friday, 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, we do not require AP personnel on site for the entire time. We are looking for someone who can complete all the required duties, but we can be very flexible with work hours.
We use Sage BusinessVision SBE and Microsoft Office. We are willing to train, both on the software and Accounts Payable duties. What we value most in an applicant is a down to earth person with a good work ethic, and a willingness to learn. A casual attitude to swearing and dog hair is also highly valuable.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 40 per week
