We invite you to use your skills with us and contribute to something meaningful and enduring.The Opportunity We are currently seeking a Senior Occupational Health Analyst to join our Occupational Health team in Sudbury, ON.This is a permanent position covered under the Collective Agreement between Vale and the Local 2020-05 United Steelworkers.As a Senior Occupational Health Analyst, you will provide ongoing service, technical support and advice to the line organization on all matters related to occupational hygiene, to maintain compliance with applicable legislation, the SHE Management System as well as Service Level Agreements. Your experience and skills will identify, assess, evaluate and recommend appropriate controls to reduce the risk relating to health hazards in the workplace.Additionally, in this position you will: Support the development, execution and maintenance of Occupational Hygiene Programs and associated medical surveillance requirements, including Occupational Hygiene Program, Quantitative Occupational Exposure Monitoring Program, Asbestos Abatement and Management; Designated Substances; Respiratory Protection; Hearing Conservation; Hazardous Materials; Heat Stress; Cold Stress; and other related programs.Prepare samples for submission to chemical analysis laboratory and coordinate shipping and interpret results. Determine exposure concentrations and compare them to regulatory standards and guidelines as well as accepted occupational exposure criteria. Apply statistical analytical techniques to summarize data.Conduct workplace visits, audits and inspections to progress employee understanding and knowledge of health hazards, risk management and control. Conduct workplace monitoring as per established protocols for physical, chemical and biological agents.Schedule, coordinate and execute divisional occupational hygiene team monitoring plans, audits and inspections while integrating the operation and maintenance plans.Regularly gather and report on progress (KPI's) and seek improvement opportunities through analysis of the divisional schedule and execution. Provide ongoing forecasts for plan completion and milestones, identify and diagnose problems and modify the monitoring schedule as required to ensure execution and completion. Develop strategies for evaluating the workplace to determine the degree of risk, including qualitative and quantitative exposure assessment strategies. Develop and support the implementation of controls, processes and initiatives related to health hazards and evaluate the effectiveness of control strategies implemented.Conduct exposure assessments during commissioning of new processes or systems.Provide guidance and recommendations to employees, site management and the Joint Health and Safety Committee regarding health and hygiene related matters by utilizing the principals of the Internal Responsibility System. Report status of Occupation Hygiene programs to Joint Health and Safety Committee.Execute on personal safety plan focused on visible leadership in the workplace. Providing training and education to employees on occupation health hazards.About You Education:University or College Degree/Diploma in a science field or equivalent
