*HAMILTON URBAN CORE COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTRE* _Strong Core, Healthier Lives_ Position Available: *Chiropodist 0.5 FTE* Hamilton Urban Core is a thriving inner city health centre and a leader in the provision of high-quality primary health services and health promotion programs. Our comprehensive health services are delivered through a dynamic team of multidisciplinary, inter-professional health providers. As an inner-city health centre our client populations include individuals and families with chronic and complex health and social conditions, many of whom are living in poverty. The Chiropodist is an essential member of the client-centered, inter-professional, multidisciplinary team of health providers at Hamilton Urban Core. The Chiropodist will work with other members of the Centre?s teams to effectively and efficiently serve clients and communities using responsive and innovative approaches to services and service delivery framed by health equity and the social determinants of health. They will provide foot care services including diabetic foot care and orthotic services. The care modality emphasizes health promotion, disease prevention, and client education. The Chiropodist participates in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of foot care programs and services, and participate in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programs and services for clients within the Hamilton Community. The suitable candidate must be detail oriented and have excellent communication skills. Our office is fully compliant with all COVID-19 protocols. The successful candidate should have: · Recognized diploma in Chiropody (required) · Current Registration with and member in good standing of the College of Chiropodists of Ontario under the 1994 Chiropody Act (required) · Experience providing chiropody and orthotic services · Certification in Local Anesthesia, Soft Tissue Surgery, Injections, and Pharmacology is preferred · Experience working in a community setting · Excellent clinical and problem-solving skills · Experience working with individuals and families with chronic and complex health and social conditions · Demonstrated understanding and ability to apply the principles of health promotion, disease / injury prevention, and social determinants of health · Demonstrated understanding and sensitivity to issues impacting inner city populations · Proficiency in the use of computers in the work environment · Ability to work effectively as a member of an inter-professional, multidisciplinary team Benefits Include: · Paid Vacation · Paid Sick Days, · Paid Personal Days & Birthdays · Social & Wellness Activities Interested individuals should forward a resume and cover letter by *November 15,2024 *to: *Hiring Committee ?
