This posting is open to WRDSB employees who are members of the EA Association as well as External applicants.<p><p> <p>All LTO assignments are subject to a revised end date with 2-weeks notice.<p><p><p> <p><p><p><p>Qualifications/Requirements:<p>A condition of employment as an EA/CYW with the Waterloo Region District School Board requires that one must pass a Physical Demands test. All job offers will be conditional on the candidate passing all components of this test. This applies to any EA/CYW that does not already have Permanent/LTO level D hours.<p><p>Educational Assistant Qualifications:<p><p> EA Diploma<p> Equivalent college or university degree in a Child Related field (certified teacher, Developmental Services Worker, Bachelor of Social Work, Social Services Diploma) along with experience working with children.<p> Minimum six (6) month diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution in a child-related discipline and a minimum of one (1) year of related work experience (1224 hours) preferably directly supporting children with special needs and deemed equivalent by the Board.<p> Minimum six (6) month certificate from an accredited educational institution in a child-related discipline and a minimum of one (1) year of related work experience (1224 hours) preferably directly supporting children with special needs and deemed equivalent by the Board<p> Post-secondary degree/diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution that is complementary to supporting children with special needs as solely determined by the Board and a minimum of one (1) year of related work experience (1224 hours) preferably directly supporting children with special needs and deemed equivalent by the Board<p><p>Assets: <p><p> A valid Behaviour Management Systems certification<p> Proven ability and recent experience in working with students with special needs and behavioural disabilities is strongly preferred and school-based experience<p> Autism Spectrum Disorder Training<p> Lifting/Positioning Training <p><p><p>The Waterloo Region District School Board is committed to equity in employment.
