Candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and respectfully, with a human rights and equity perspective, to foster student success, achievement and well-being.<p> <p><p><p> <p> <p> <p> <p> About the Program<p> <p> <p> <p><p><p>INTERNATIONAL & INDIGENOUS LANGUAGES PROGRAM (Elementary)<p>The International & Indigenous Languages Program is mandated by the Ontario Ministry of Education and provides high quality instruction in non-official languages. The International & Indigenous Languages program is offered on Saturdays from September 7, 2024 to June 14, 2025 (33 Saturdays in total) and is attended by students from JK to grade 8.<p><p><p><p><p> <p> <p> <p> <p> Language<p> <p> <p> Day<p> <p> <p> Time<p> <p> <p> Mode of Instruction<p> <p> <p> Location<p> <p> <p> <p> <p> Japanese<p> <p> <p> Saturday<p> <p> <p> 9:30am - 12:00pm<p> <p> <p> in-person<p> <p> <p> Hopewell PS<p> <p> <p> <p> <p> Monday & Tuesday<p> Wednesday & Thursday<p> <p> <p> 4:15-5:30 pm<p> <p> <p> virtual<p> <p> <p> N/A<p> <p> <p> <p> Tamazight<p> <p> Saturday<p> <p> <p> 9:30am - 12:00pm<p> <p> <p> in-person<p> <p> <p> Hopewell PS<p> <p> <p> <p> Khmer<p> <p> <p> Saturday<p> <p> <p> 9:30am - 12:00pm<p> <p> <p> in-person<p> <p> <p> Adult HS<p> <p> <p> <p><p><p><p><p>The rate of pay for an IILP instructor ranges between $21.26 to $31.43 + 4% vac pay per hour depending on qualifications and experience, including years of teaching experience in the IILP at OCDSB.<p><p><p><p><p> <p> <p> <p> <p> Eligibility & Qualifications<p> <p> <p> <p><p><p>Applications will be considered on the basis of the following:<p><p> <p> Fluency in the target language;<p> <p> <p> Teaching experience, with preference to teaching experience of the Japanese language;<p> <p> <p> Related degree or diploma, with preference to Ontario College of Teachers? certification or equivalent would be an asset.<p> <p><p>Instructors who are not currently OCDSB employees will be required to submit a valid Police Records Check for employment with the Vulnerable Sector, acceptable to the OCDSB and less than 6 months old, prior to their first day of work. <p><p><p><p><p> <p> <p> <p> <p> Responsibilities<p> <p> <p> <p><p><p><p> <p> Plan, coordinate and implement a program that is optimal for the target language learning and that reflects current teaching practices in Ontario;<p> <p> <p> Ensure the safety and well-being of students;<p> <p> <p> Familiarity with digital tools (e.g., Google Meet, Google Classroom, Google Site, etc.) to be able to teach virtually if required;<p> <p> <p> Incorporate equitable and inclusive learning practices;<p> <p> <p> Assess and evaluate students? progress;<p> <p> <p> Communicate students? progress to parents/guardians and students;<p> <p> <p> Supervision of students in the virtual learning setting;<p> <p> <p> Attend professional development learning opportunities. <p> <p><p><p><p>TERM<p>The successful candidate wi- LocationOttawa, ON
