Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Shelter for the homeless. Tasks: Appraise clients' needs or eligibility for specific services. Provide suicide and crisis intervention. Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses. Liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Mental health first aid Certificate. Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate. Target audience: Street population. Computer and technology knowledge: Electronic mail. MS Office. Security and safety: Confidential security clearance. Criminal record check. Driver's validity licence check. Driving record check (abstract). Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Interpersonal awareness. Judgement. Client focus. Screening questions: Are you available for shift or on-call work?. Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?. Experience: Experience an asset. Financial benefits: As per collective agreement.
