*Position Overview:*
We are seeking a skilled Property Management Lawyer with expertise in residential real estate law to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property management, landlord-tenant relations, and regulatory compliance, with a focus on serving residential buildings in Ontario. This role will involve providing legal guidance to our property management team and ensuring adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Offer legal counsel on property management matters, including lease agreements, tenant relations, and compliance with Ontario?s landlord-tenant laws.
* Draft, review, and negotiate residential lease agreements, service contracts, and other legal documents.
* Ensure compliance with relevant provincial and municipal regulations, including the Residential Tenancies Act.
* Assist in resolving disputes with tenants, including representing the company in eviction proceedings and mediation.
* Conduct legal research and stay informed about changes in real estate law affecting property management in Ontario.
* Collaborate with property management teams to develop and implement best practices for compliance and risk management.
* Provide training and guidance to property management staff on legal requirements and procedures.
* Represent Golden Equity in legal proceedings as needed.
*Qualifications:*
* Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
* Admission to the bar in Ontario.
* Minimum of 4 years of experience as a lawyer specializing in residential property management and real estate law.
* Strong understanding of landlord-tenant law, including the Residential Tenancies Act in Ontario.
* Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
