<p><p> <p> <p> Details: <p> <p> <p> <p> DISTRICT PSYCHOLOGIST - Coast Mountains School District 82<p> <p> JOB DESCRIPTION:<p> The School Psychologist is a member of<p> District Staff in a Position of Special Responsibility working under the<p> direction of the Director of Instruction, Learner Support or designate.<p> The School Psychologist will:<p> <p> ? Provide collaborative consultation in classrooms and at school-based team meetings;<p> <p> ? Provide collaborative planning for students and classrooms and consult on pre-referral interventions;<p> <p> ? Provide educational assessments, which may include the use of<p> Level C testing instruments, for students referred through the<p> school-based team process;<p> <p> ? Contribute to the development of the IEP as appropriate and necessary;<p> <p> ? Provide in-service training in the area of interventions, progress monitoring, data collection and/or assessment;<p> <p> ? Consult with Director of Learner Support regarding with the Ministry of Education processes for designation and adjudication;<p> <p> ? Consult with teachers, support staff, parents, students, and<p> community agencies (e.g. MCFD, regional health authorities, Community<p> Living BC, Child and Youth Mental Health) regarding student strengths<p> and needs, assessment implication, and interventions through which to<p> enhance learning and interpersonal relations;<p> <p> ? Collaborate with school-based and/or district personnel to gather<p> classroom-based data, design or implement instructional strategies<p> /interventions and /or design and implement behavioural interventions;<p> <p> ? Assist school or district staff in providing additional in-service<p> for educators and support staff (e.g. behaviour management,<p> observational techniques/data gathering, PBS, RTI) and participate or<p> assist with program evaluation or research activities;<p> <p> ? Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Instruction, Learner Support or designate.<p> <p> <p> This assignment is a district position with responsibilities to<p> schools and staff throughout the district. This teacher will be expected<p> to work the same hours per week as Secondary teachers in the schools,<p> but the schedule of hours will be flexible and reasonable and will<p> depend on specific plans on a daily and weekly basis as mutually agreed<p> to by the School Psychologist and the Director of Instruction, Learner<p> Support or designate.<p> <p> <p> An allowance will be assigned to this position in accordance with<p> Article B.27 (Allowances). This teacher is bound by the BCTF Code of<p> Ethics.<p> <p> Appendices: Knowledge and Experience, Qualifications (for posting purposes).<p> <p> <p> <p> <p> KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE<p> <p> 1. Knowledge and understanding of Ministry of Education curriculum and competencies.<p> <p> 2. Understanding of educational implications of the assessment<p> process and the skill set to provide support based on strengths and<p> needs.<p> <p> 3. Experience working within elementary and secondary schools.<p> <p> 4. Current knowledge of Ministry of Education, Special Education policies and procedures.<p> <p> 5. Ability to work independently as well as a part of a team with<p> Learner Support staff, teachers, school administrators, support staff,<p> parents, students and other professionals.<p> <p> 6. Ability to collaborate with school-based or district staff to<p> gather/review classroom-based data and design or implement<p> instructional strategies.<p> <p> 7. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills, ability to form<p> successful working relationships with a variety of colleagues.<p> <p> 8. Ability to organize and prioritize work and effective time<p> management in order to complete assessments and reports in a timely<p> manner<p> <p> 9. Awareness of, and practice according to, relevant professional<p> standards and ethics such as the BCTF Code of Ethics, the Principles and<p> Standards for Members of the BC Assoc
