Together, our 10,000+ staff serve more than 66,000 students in more than 100 schools in the communities of Burlington, Oakville, Milton, Georgetown and Halton Hills. We are seeking qualified Casual Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) to be placed in the SLP casual pool. Individuals within this casual pool may be offered temporary, short-term employment up to 3 months in length to fill temporary vacancies during the absence of the regular incumbent.<p><p>Casual pool applicants who are successful in the interview and provide the board with a clear vulnerable sector check and a confirmation of their diploma/degree will be contacted when short-term and long-term temporary assignments become available. Once employed in a short-term or long-term temporary Speech-Language Pathologist position, casual/replacement SLP applicants will have priority consideration for long term occasional and permanent job opportunities as they are posted as per the PSSP Collective Agreement. For temporary long-term occasional (LTO) positions, longer than three months, a comprehensive Employee & Family Benefits plan applies to those in positions longer than 90 consecutive days. <p>Once an applicant is offered an accepts a short-term or long-term temporary position, they become employees of the HDSB. Successful casual pool applicants will be placed within the casual pool for a period of up to 2 years.<p><p>Benefits of working as a Speech-Language Pathologist with the Halton District School Board: <p><p> Direct opportunity to impact student wellbeing and academic success <p> Opportunity to work in a Board where collaboration, inclusion, and innovation are fostered<p> Professional Development / Mentorship<p> Opportunity to actively engage and learn collaboratively with peers <p> Participate in a variety of ongoing ad-hoc committees and teams<p><p>Position Summary: <p><p> Reporting to the Special Education Manager of Speech-Language Pathology Services, the Speech-Language Pathologist will work primarily in a variety of elementary and secondary schools within a defined geographic region. <p><p>Responsibilities will include: <p><p> Providing student-specific assessment, consultation, preventative and interventive services to support a<p> Caseload of students with a wide range of communication delays or disorders, including students who range from nonverbal to highly verbal <p> Engaging in in the provision of professional development and supports related to whole class, small group and individual learning<p> Providing consultative/collaborative support to educational staff, students and parents<p> Collaborating with educators and students in specialized language programs/classrooms<p> Collaborating with educators to support early literacy programs<p> Participating in multi-disciplinary teams/committees and School Resource Team meetings<p> Providing clinical direction to Communicative Disorders Assistants<p> Independently maintaining and managing a caseload across a number of schools, obtaining informed<p> Consent from parents/guardians/students, maintaining appropriate, confidential records, and providing timely reports<p> Consulting/collaborating with administrators and teachers on school-based supports, providing<p> Recommendations for programming and making referrals, as appropriate, for other services to support students<p><p><p>Minimum Qualifications: <p><p> A Master?s degree from an accredited University <p> Current registration in the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of
