The successful candidate?s will be responsible for supervision and instruction of religious language in the Tahfeeth program under the direction of the school Principal.<p>If you are patient, flexible, empathic and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, you are a perfect fit for our organization. Qualifications for a Casual Arabic & Islamic Instructor include a Bachelor Degree, or Master?s Degree, in Arabic/Islamic Studies. Building a strong rapport with students is key to a successful career as an Arabic & Islamic Instructor. Previous experience as an Arabic & Islamic Instructor is considered an asset.<p>Please apply to this position location if you would like to be a Casual Instructor at the schools located in this particular area:<p>Palliser North Calgary School List: <p><p> CIS - Akram Jomaa Campus<p> CIS - Omar Bin Al-Khattab Campus<p> Horizon Leadership Academy<p><p>Experience & Qualifications: <p><p> Bachelor Degree, or Master?s Degree, in Arabic/Islamic Studies;<p> Previous experience as an Arabic & Islamic Instructor and asset;<p> Successful Criminal Reference Check, including vulnerable sectors (within 3 months of contract start date). <p><p>Skills and Competencies: <p><p> Strong work ethic<p> Ability to relate well with students, staff and parents<p> An ethic of service to students, colleagues, and community<p> Strong interpersonal skills combined with the ability to create positive relationships and establish rapport<p> Trustworthiness and integrity<p> Commitment to the Palliser Policy-Governance model<p> Commitment to fostering collaborative working relationships<p> Ability to manage professional learning time and be a self-starter<p> Commitment to personal lifelong learning<p> Commitment to the lifelong quest for self-understanding<p> Commitment to strengthening communication skills.<p><p>Arabic and Islamic Instructors support the Principal in fulfilling the mandate of the school through the promotion of Islamic values and beliefs. The Principal is the direct supervisor and determines the Instructor?s responsibilities using the list as a guide.<p><p> Fostering Effective Relationships - Arabic and Islamic Studies instructors ensure strong relationships and promote a safe and caring school environment.<p> Supporting the Learning Community - Arabic and Islamic Studies instructors support the learning community.<p> Supporting Instructional Leadership - Arabic and Islamic Studies instructors plan for optimum learning.<p> Arabic and Islamic Studies instructors create a classroom environment that promotes optimum learning.<p> Arabic and Islamic Studies instructors promote optimal learning through effective instruction.<p> Arabic and Islamic Studies instructors promote optimal learning through effective assessment.<p> Understanding and Responding to the Larger Societal Context - Arabic and Islamic Studies instructors respond to the societal context.<p><p>In order to maintain a safe and secure working environment, applicants new to The Palliser School Division must provide:<p><p> Criminal Record Check, including vulnerable sector check from Local Police Service or RCMP detachment;<p> Social Insurance Number (SIN) card or document issued by Service Canada; SIN card/document must be in current legal name.
