*Position Summary*
We are seeking an *Engineering Manager* to join our growing team! As Engineering Manager, you will have oversight the Engineering department, which has 3 divisions: Continuous Improvement, Robotics/Automation, and Maintenance. This position has 9 direct reports across the 3 divisions.
This is a key position that sits on our Senior Leadership Team (SLT). The SLT guides the strategy and future of the Company, and has a direct line of sight of financials.
It is an exciting time in Engineering department as the robotics centre is a new initiative for the Company.

*Duties and Responsibilities*
Primary
_Maintenance:_
- Develop and implement a preventive and predictive maintenance program, regularly reviewing it for improvements.
- Manage projects to increase OEE (overall equipment effectiveness), MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure), MTTR (mean time to repair), and downtime reduction.
- Design and implement manufacturing processes.
- Manage suppliers through full installation in collaboration with relevant parties.
- Prepare and distribute work orders as needed (daily, weekly, monthly).
- Monitor and control maintenance inventory.
- Request quotes and place orders for equipment, machinery, and facilities.
- Develop and manage the equipment and maintenance budget.
- Perform daily walkthroughs of production and warehouse areas, inspecting equipment and infrastructure, and creating pending work checklists.
- Prepare budgets and forecasts for new equipment and production line equipment.
_Continuous Improvement:_
- Identify and facilitate process improvement projects.
- Evaluate process flows and provide recommendations.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement programs.
- Create a training plan to foster a continuous improvement culture through workshops that generate ideas and solutions.
- Manage the introduction of new machinery and equipment, starting from specification development.
- Engage in ongoing training and development.
- Participate in new product and process development.
- Support the delivery of better value and greater efficiency through the identification and elimination of unnecessary complexity within business processes and identification of better ways of working.
- Direct and facilitate the ongoing lean improvement process including but not limited to Kaizen, 5?S, TPM, Kanban, SMED, MTM, PDCA, FMEA, Statistical Process Management, and Line Balancing.
_Robotics:_
- Oversee design, development, and integration of robotic systems, manufacturing processes to automate tasks, enhancement of production capabilities, and reduction human error.
- Oversee writing of comprehensive documentation for all robotics systems, including software architecture, system integration plans, and maintenance procedures.
- Oversee analysis of existing automation systems and recommendations for enhancements or modifications to improve performance, accuracy, and reliability.
_General:_
- Develop SOPs for equipment, process optimization, and maintenance.
- Stay updated on technological trends and best practices.
- Establish departmental objectives and KPIs, and report on results.
- Coordinate with external contractors and suppliers for facility and equipment services, overseeing their work.
