Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Tasks: Conduct geological, geophysical, geochemical, hydrographic or oceanographic surveys, prospecting field trips, exploratory drilling, well logging or underground mine survey programs. Prepare rock, mineral or metal samples. Assist in preparing rock, mineral or metal samples. Prepare notes, sketches, geological maps and cross sections. Computer and technology knowledge: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. MS Office. Field work location experience: On land. Technical experience: Mapping and surveying. Geochemical sampling analysis. Area of work experience: Data interpretation and evaluation. Field sampling and data acquisition. Geological mapping. Type of industry experience: Mineral resources and/or mining. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment.
