DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES <p>2755 Highway 43, Kemptville, Ontario K0G 1J0 phone: 613-258-7757 toll free: 1-800-443-4562 hr@cdsbeo.on.ca<p>October 30, 2024 VACANCY <p>OECTA 8081 <p>Position: School Based Math Facilitator (Term Position) <p>Location: Bishop MacDonell, Cornwall and other Elementary and Secondary Schools Salary: As per Collective Agreement <p>FTE: 1.00 <p>Effective: Immediately June 27, 2025 <p>Summary: <p>Under the supervision of the Principal of Math Learning in Schools, the School-based Math Facilitators will foster the goals of the Learning Tenet of the Board Improvement & Equity Plan by supporting student learning in priority schools in Grades 3, 6 and 9 classrooms. The Math Facilitator will work directly with students who require additional support, provide in-class facilitation to strengthen math knowledge and pedagogy, support consistent and intentional implementation of high-impact instructional practices and early intervention strategies, and complete other duties as assigned. <p>The Math Facilitator will be assigned to a family of schools that have been identified by the Ministry of Education as a priority, and work in these schools to support the students and assist the teachers in monitoring progress towards improvement targets. <p>Qualifications:<p><p> Valid Ontario College of Teachers Certificate; <p> Primary/Junior/Intermediate Math qualifications; <p> Special education qualifications and/or experience supporting students receiving special education programs and/or services; <p> Religious Education Part 1 would be considered an asset; <p> Deep knowledge of the Ontario math curriculum (2020 and 2021); <p> Extensive knowledge about instruction and pedagogy in numeracy, including high impact instructional practices and intervention strategies in mathematics; <p> Extensive knowledge of assessment, evaluation and reporting practices in alignment with Growing Success, the Institute for Catholic Education and the Ontario Ministry of Education and Board directives; <p> Demonstrated effective leadership and experience in working with Board and school teams, and expertise in the planning and delivery of job- embedded teacher professional development; <p> Ability to use tact and discretion, and maintain information in the strictest of confidence; <p> Excellent organizational, communication and coordination skills; <p> Must be self-directed and detail-oriented. <p> A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle, and willingness to travel to rural schools across the CDSBEO are required. <p><p>Send application, including Certificate of Qualifications and resume as follows:<p>Permanent applicants, please email application to: TeachingPositions@cdsbeo.on.ca Occasional teacher /external applicants please visit: http://www.cdsbeo.on.ca/careers/teaching-positions/ Applications received by fax, mail, or emailed directly to individual Human Resources staff <p>will not be processed. <p>Posting closes at 4:00 p.m. on Monday November 4, 2024. <p>We thank all applicants in advance for their interest; however, only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted. <p>The CDSBEO adheres to equitable hiring, employment and promotion practices and is committed to an inclusive workforce.
