Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Boiler manufacturing company. Heavy machinery manufacturing. Metal product fabrication industry. Platework manufacturing company. Platework fabrication plant. Tasks: Cut, bend, roll, ream, punch, drill, weld or otherwise shape and form metal stock into parts or products. Lay out, set up and operate one or more light or heavy metalworking machines. Operate machines or equipment which weld, solder, bolt, screw or rivet metal parts together. Operate presses or other forging machines to perform hot or cold forging to shape or form metal. Read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions. Measure and mark sheet metal according to template. Read blueprints to determine work requirements . Equipment and machinery experience: Brakes. Overhead crane. Power presses. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Heat exchangers. Press brakes and metalworking equipment. Metal forming or shaping operations experience: Bending. Flattening. Forming. Straightening. Area of specialization: Custom fabrication and layout. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Public transportation is not available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Handling heavy loads. Manual dexterity. Overtime required. Physically demanding. Repetitive tasks. Standing for extended periods. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Personal suitability: Judgement. Organized. Team player. Screening questions: Are you available for shift or on-call work?.
