Stewart began delivering milk from the family farm on Stewart Road in Niagara on the Lake, it was the beginning of a legacy of providing valued customer service for generations to come. *Job Description:* Come grow with us!! We are looking for a pleasant, responsible and enthusiastic individuals to work full time or part time as Store clerks at Avondale Food Stores. A Store Clerk, or Sales Assistant, assists in the day-to-day operations of a store. Their duties include selling products, providing exceptional customer service to patrons, and maintaining the reputation of a store. *Duties & Responsibilities:* ? Greet customers, answer their queries, and assist them when selecting and finding merchandise ? Monitor those in the store to help ensure loss prevention ? Properly display all store products and place them in an organized manner so that customers can find them easily ? Perform the checkout process and conduct all transactions and duties related to billing and payment at the store counter - Receive payment by cash, cheque, credit cards, vouchers or automatic debits - Issue receipts, refunds, credits or change due to customers - Tabulate bills using cash registers or optical price scanners - Count money in cash drawers at beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change * Have the ability and knowledge to answer customer questions related to information, including availability of products ? Maintain the overall look of the store and ensure that it is clean, restocked, and properly organized ? Maintain product records and inventory, and ensure that the process of re-ordering is smooth ? Be involved in planning and preparation of displays, trade shows, windows, and seasonal promotions · Calculate total payments received during a time period (shift) and reconcile this with total sales ? Scan the bar codes or enter the price of merchandise into a cash register ? Sell lottery tickets, gasoline, cigarettes and tobacco products and in some cases alcohol products ? Ensure that the customers are the proper age for purchasing these products (verify age as per provincial/federal legislation) and refuse to sell the goods if they are underage ? Totaling the sale and accept payment for the goods ? When selling gasoline, clerks must turn pumps on and off once customers have paid · Other duties as assigned *Job Requirements:* · Ability to have open availability. · Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in English. · Be able to use cash register and POS computer system. · Hold current certificates for Smoke Free Ontario Act and Smart Serve (were applicable). · Positive attitude and charisma; Energetic and highly determined · Works well with others, alone and with little supervision · Strong attention to detail · Ensure a high level of customer interaction, suggestive selling and enthusiasm *Schedule:* Day shift Evening Shift Weekend Availability _We're committed to helping you do your best work.
