<p>Continuing Education - Temporary - Adult ESL - Night School <p>Summary: <p> Reporting to the ESL/LINC Program Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible to instruct English as a Second Language and/or Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada to adult learners, from Literacy to CLB 7. Candidates are needed for temporary evening classes scheduled from January 2025 to June 2025, contingent on funding and enrollment. Sites and Levels to be determined.<p> Base Wage: $36.90 or according to the OSSTF ESL Collective Agreement <p> Qualifications: <p><p> Current TESL Ontario Certification (OCELT) is required.<p> Completion of CLB Bootcamp and Introduction to PBLA from the Centre for Canadian Language Benchmarks (recommended within 6 months of hire into casual pool and required for hire into a permanent day or night position) <p> Knowledge and application of the Canadian Language Benchmarks<p> Knowledge and application of Portfolio Based Language Assessment (PBLA)<p> Exceptional interpersonal skills to work effectively with teaching colleagues, administrative staff, and the management team<p> Excellent practice and knowledge in the principles of adult learning<p> Demonstrated experience using Learning Management Systems<p> Demonstrated experience using technology as a teaching and learning tool<p> Excellent communication and cross-cultural skills<p><p>To apply: <p> Submit a letter of application and resume outlining how your knowledge, abilities, and experience are related to this job opportunity.
