Urgently seeking energetic, team players to join us in the forging and machining of custom metal products. Working as a Press Operator in our open die forge, you will have the unique opportunity to learn how to; * Set up, operate and tend forging presses to perform hot open die forging process by flattening, straightening, twisting, forming, upsetting, bending or cutting steel ingots to taper, shape or form metal * Review work orders to determine proper forging technique and press setup * Run furnace programs and record readings * Ensure proper loading of parts into furnaces * Provide leadership and instruction to other forge crew members * Verify forging dimensions * Position and adjust product on anvil using material handling equipment * Stage all product to proper lay down areas as scheduled by the Lead Hand or Supervisor *Qualifications* * High school diploma or 2 years? experience working in a similar position * Familiarity with material handling equipment (overhead cranes and forklifts) and the safe handling of large objects * Previous experience working with steel is an asset * Blueprint interpretation * Good hand eye coordination with the ability to use extremities (hands/feet) simultaneously * Demonstrated strong organizational, planning, coordination and priority-setting skills * Good command of the English language both written and verbal * Ability to work with little supervision If you are looking for a new opportunity with a company that promotes from within, Patriot welcomes you to submit your resume for consideration.
