Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Dangerous. At heights. Outdoors. Work setting: Various locations. Tasks: Trim trees to achieve the desired pruning objective such as crown cleaning, thinning, raising, reduction, restoration, espalier pruning, vista pruning. Survey and assess designated sites. Apply fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, pesticides and other lawn care products. Apply various treatments such as pruning, spraying, repairing damaged areas and injecting with treatment solutions. Examine trees and shrubs to diagnose problems and disease. Tree removal. Operate chainsaw to fell, delimb and buck trees. Area of specialization: Plant knowledge and identification. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity.
