This position will also be working collaboratively with teachers and the Learning Support Teacher and in alignment with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and student SMART Goals, will provide literacy intervention strategies and additional programming for students identified as requiring extra support. The main focus of the program is to provide positive, holistic, inclusive, culturally appropriate practises that include students and families at the center.Want to know more? You will?Develop appropriate programs in support of students with speech language concerns and literacy challenges. Observe clients and use tests and examinations to diagnose and measure delays and disorders Talk to students and families about the nature and impact of their disorders and discuss extra supports Schedule extra support and programming for students Advocate for students with language impairments Promote available programs Compile and maintain proper records Must Haves:Master?s Degree level and experience as a Speech/Language Pathologist. Experience working collaboratively in classrooms with teachers to develop classroom plans for students with speech language concerns. Experience working collaboratively in classrooms with teachers/Learning Support Teacher to develop classroom plans for students with Literacy/Reading concerns Experience providing liaison with programs offered by external agencies Be registered and with good standing with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC (CSHBC). Criminal Record check with Vulnerable Sector Search with results acceptable to WFN.
