QUALIFICATIONS: <p>· Possess a Bachelor of Education degree<p>· Must have or be eligible for BC Teacher Certification<p>· Experience working with First Nations students<p>· Good communication skills, self-motivated, compassionate, empathetic, and enthusiastic;<p>· Ability to manage challenging student behaviors.<p>Knowledge and experience: <p><p><p><p>· Primary Programs: Read Well, Saxon Math, Acadience Reading<p>· Intermediate programs: Reading Mastery, Six Minute Solution, Jump Math/Math Focus, Corrective Reading, Third Quest<p>· Effective classroom management skills;<p>· Knowledge and understanding of First Nations culture;<p>· Effective planning strategies which include lesson plans, unit plans and year plans;<p>· Comprehensive assessment strategies which accommodate First Nations learning styles;<p>· Willingness to integrate appropriate technologies in the classroom;<p>· Experience developing and implementing IEPs;<p>· Willingness to incorporate a variety of teaching methods to motivate and encourage students including the use of traditional knowledge in the outdoors and on the land;<p>· Willingness to participate in local community and cultural events;<p>· Experience using technology and web-based resources in instruction including Smartboards and IPads;<p>· Maintains effective and consistent communication with students and parents to discuss progress and goals<p>· Ensure that students follow all COVID-19 guidelines such as handwashing, physical distancing, staying in cohorts, and mask wearing as required by current health and safety guidelines;<p>· Monitor virtual classrooms during distance/remote learning: student progress, student attendance, student mental health<p> <p>Check out our school by watching this video:<p>https://vimeo.com/678378914/f02a0ee2fe<p> <p>Open until filled.
