School District No. 73 is currently accepting applications for the Aboriginal Education Worker (AEW) Relief roster, with the possibility of an appointment to a position in the 2024/2025 school year. <p>Aboriginal Education Workers provide assistance and support to either individual or groups of Aboriginal students. The successful applicants will be of Aboriginal Ancestry and have a thorough knowledge of applicable Aboriginal culture, tradition and issues, both historical and contemporary.<p>Qualifications:<p><p> Grade 12 supplemented by a minimum of one (1) year post-secondary education in a related field (e.g. Education Assistant and Community Support Certificate)<p> Two (2) years proven previous work experience working with children, preferably of Aboriginal ancestry.<p> Valid B.C. Driver's License.<p> Aboriginal language skills and previous experience supporting the Aboriginal community would be an asset.<p><p>The successful incumbent(s) must be willing to travel to our outlying communities while on relief. <p>School District No. 73 is an equal opportunity employer.
