<p>We are looking for an On-Call Elementary Teacher to support students at the Okanagan Indian Band Cultural Immersion School, nkmaplqs i snmamayatn kl sqilxwtet. <p>WHAT WE OFFER <p>The OKIB offers a welcoming team environment and a rewarding job experience as you join us in providing services to the Okanagan Indian Band. <p>SUPPORTS NEEDED <p><p> Perform the regular duties of the Classroom Teacher who you are filling in for<p> Follow established yearly overviews, unit plans, and day plans<p> Support the student-centered learning program in place which enhances the explicit programs our school delivers<p> Integrate students with disabilities and challenges in a positive and respectful manner<p> Supervision duties to include classroom supervision, field trips, & recess/lunch supervision<p> Implement positive discipline when required in accordance with the School Handbook, which includes Conflict Resolution and Restorative Justice<p> Ensure children have a safe and secure learning environment<p> Attend Language and Culture classes daily with students to ensure classroom management and to learn language alongside with students. This includes local outings which may include hiking<p> In case of extended teacher absence, collaborate to complete student report cards and interim reports using school-wide format<p> Classroom supervision and management and supervise field trips and other supervision duties as required<p> Ensure children have a safe and secure environment<p> Perform other duties as required<p><p>QUALIFICATIONS <p>Education <p><p> Bachelor of Education, or equivalent<p> Valid BC teaching certificate issued by the Teacher Regulation Branch or in the process of obtaining <p> Current First Aid/CPR certificate or willing to obtain <p><p>Preference may be given to those having knowledge of the Okanagan culture and traditions- LocationVernon, BC
