*Crop Production Technician*
A day in the life of a *Crop Production Technician* offers endless ways to tap into your natural curiosity and observant nature while exploring the fascinating world of Integrated Pest Management (IPM).
Your day begins with a warm ?hello? to your teammates and a friendly joke or two before you convene with the growing team to hear the latest crop updates, set priorities, and make a plan based on shipping schedules and the immediate needs of the crops.
There?s rain in the forecast, so you gear up for the elements, equip yourself with your trusty clipboard, and head out to scout the growing areas on your list. You systematically work area by area, using your keen ?bug vision? to spot signs of potential issues and any contributing environmental factors of note. This time to ?bug out? is both relaxing and engaging as you zone in on the crops? needs.
As you finish up your checks on the Euro Cypress crop, you?re called over to the warehouse to inspect outbound shipments. With your diligence, attention to detail, and understanding of certification program requirements, each rack is given the green light for loading.
With several hours of scouting accomplished, you return to the office to consolidate your findings. You noticed aphid levels were slightly above threshold in the lavender crop, so you communicate this observation to your team and collaborate on a treatment plan. You also follow up on past sprays and the application of biologicals to ensure effectiveness across every crop ? no pesky intruders will fly under your radar today!
As the day winds down, you rest your feet, pop on an audiobook or podcast, and put your typing fingers to work. It?s time to enter the data you?ve collected and plan for tomorrow?s tasks. Your role is physically demanding, but with a mix of humor, teamwork, continuous learning, and a love for plants and bugs, every day is a new opportunity to find adventure in the crops.
*Does this sound like a perfect workday?* If so, you?ll fit well on our team of A-players as a *Crop Production Technician.*
We partner together with our customers ? horticultural growers across North America ? to deliver on our vision: Growing Partnerships, Delivering Excellence. Join us in a positive, uplifting, and appreciative environment.
