You'll work directly on mine and industrial sites, collaborating closely with operators and managers to identify and correct hazards before they escalate into problems.</p><p></p><p>With a 60% field approach, you'll establish yourself as a trusted leader, capable of anticipating needs and providing concrete solutions.</p><p></p><p><strong>What are we looking for in you?</strong></p><p></p><p>Solid experience in an industrial or worksite environment, expertise in risk analysis, and above all, a proactive attitude.</p><p></p><p>If you're autonomous, pragmatic, and can rally a team around the importance of effective OHS practices, you're exactly the person we're seeking.</p><p></p><p>You?ll be able to assess complex situations, communicate effectively with diverse teams, and transform challenges into opportunities for improvement.</p><p></p><p>The position is based in Labrador-City-Fermont, with frequent travel to Baie?Comeau and Sept?Îles.</p><p></p><p><strong>More specifically, the OHS and Environment Advisor's main responsibilities are to:</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>Management of health and safety systems</strong></p><ul><li>Participate in the review and improvement of OHS management systems in compliance with applicable standards, laws and regulations.</li><li>Develop, recommend and implement programs to foster an OHS culture within the company</li><li>Disseminate relevant OHS information and promote company objectives to employees</li></ul><p><strong>Implementation of policies and procedures</strong></p><ul><li>Review and implement programs, policies, and processes to eliminate OHS risks</li><li>Ensure OHS procedures comply with laws and regulations (including WHMIS)</li><li>Manage and maintain the CORE certification process specific to the province of Newfoundland and Labrador</li></ul><strong><br> </strong><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>Risk prevention and management</strong></p><ul><li>Adopt a proactive approach to identifying, assessing, and correcting OHS risks</li><li>Maintain a risk register and ensure that controls are in place to reduce critical risks</li><li>Support the implementation of safe workplaces by applying techniques such as 5S</li></ul><p><strong>Employee training and awareness</strong></p><ul><li>Ensure that managers and employees receive adequate OHS training</li><li>Integrate OHS training needs into the company's annual plan and oversee the development of employees? OHS skills</li></ul><p><strong>Incident and near-mis management</strong></p><ul><li>Assist in investigating incidents and near misses, follow up on reports, and implement corrective measures</li><li>Ensure that lessons learned from incidents are shared and that OHS practices are continuously improved</li></ul><p><strong>Performance measurement and compliance</strong></p><ul><li>Participate in evaluating OHS program performance and ensure that improvement targets are met</li><li>Help establish and monitor OHS performance indicators by collecting and analyzing relevant data</li></ul><p><strong>Working conditions</strong></p><ul><li>Permanent, daytime position</li><li>Flexible schedule of 42.5 h per week, Monday to Friday (between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.)</li><li>Service van available for site visits</li><li>Company-paid travel</li><li>Comprehensive group insurance program (including dental insurance)</li><li>Registered Retirement Savings Plan (with employer contribution)</li><li>Employee assistance program and telemedicine</li>
