We are committed to taking this journey together, fostering growth and success for both our clients and our team members. *About the Role:* We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about Addictions Medicine or eager to learn. Our team at Holmes House offers low-barrier addiction care in a residential withdrawal management setting. Whether you're experienced or new to addiction medicine, what matters most is your attitude and willingness to learn. This is a full-time, flexible role where you'll work alongside a dynamic team of Counsellors, Case Managers, Residential Detox Attendants, Addiction Physicians, and Psychiatrists. Our environment fosters learning, professional growth, and the ability to make a difference in the lives of those struggling with addiction. *We Invest in Your Professional Development:* Norfolk General is committed to helping you stay at the forefront of addiction medicine through: * *Continuing Education Programs: *Through weekly, monthly community of practices, seminars, and conferences to keep you updated on the latest in addiction medicine. * *Mentorship and Training:* Ongoing training and one-on-one mentorship with seasoned addiction medicine professionals. *Qualifications:* * Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing required; Master of Science in Nursing preferred. * Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario as an RN(EC). * Membership with NPAO or RNAO is an asset. * Professional practice liability insurance ($5M minimum). * Completion of or interest in suboxone and addiction medicine education. * Certification to prescribe narcotics and controlled substances. * Experience in community or hospital settings preferred, but not required. * Standard First Aid/CPR Level C and AED certification. * Vulnerable Sector check required. * Mental health and addictions experience is an asset but not required *Role Overview:* As a Nurse Practitioner at Holmes House, you will provide holistic care through comprehensive assessments, therapeutic management, and collaboration with our interdisciplinary team. You will play a pivotal role in helping patients with substance use disorders, utilizing evidence-based interventions and recovery-oriented care. *Key Skills:* * Strong knowledge of mental health and addiction care. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to approach care with an open and non-judgmental mindset. * Proficiency in health promotion, harm reduction, and evidence-based interventions. * Organizational, research, evaluation, and time management skills. * Comfortable with electronic medical records and basic software tools (Word, Excel, Outlook). *Hours:* Flexible scheduling between Monday and Friday (typically 8:30 am ? 4:30 pm). *Location:* Holmes House, Norfolk General Hospital. *Ready to Apply?* All interested staff should submit their Expressions of Interest to nghhr@ngh.on.ca We can?t wait to meet you and welcome you to our team!
