The lawyer will have the following combination of skills and experience: * 3+ years of legal practice experience * demonstrated experience working on First Nation governance issues, including drafting policies and legislation * knowledge of issues relating to First Nation land and resource management, governance and community development * strong analytical, communication, drafting and writing skills * digitally enabled/engaged and comfortable with using and learning technology * ability to work well under pressure, both independently and as part of a team * excellent organizational and interpersonal skills * called to the bar in British Columbia??or Ontario * a sense of humor *Description of Position * The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our team to deliver high-quality legal representation to our clients, with a focus on First Nations governance matters, legislative drafting, and policy development. The lawyer will work full-time out of the First Peoples Law office in Vancouver or Ottawa. The estimated salary range for this position is between $135,000 ? $160,000.
