*Job Summary* We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Butchery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. As a Butchery Assistant, you will support our skilled butchers in preparing and packaging various meat products while ensuring excellent customer service. *Responsibilities* * Assist butchers in meat cutting and preparation tasks, including portioning, trimming, and deboning. * Maintain cleanliness and organization of the butchery area, adhering to food safety standards. * Package meat products for display and sale, ensuring proper labeling and presentation. * Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies as needed. * Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions about meat products and offering recommendations. * Follow all safety protocols while operating equipment and handling food items. *Requirements* * Previous experience in a butcher shop or food handling environment is preferred. * Knowledge of meat cutting techniques and food preparation practices is a plus. * Strong understanding of food safety regulations and best practices. * Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. * Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items as necessary. * A passion for the food industry and willingness to learn new skills related to butchery.
