*Job Summary*
We are seeking a *Manufacturing Engineer* with expertise in *heavy equipment manufacturing* to design, improve, and optimize our production processes. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work across multiple departments. This role requires a proactive approach to ensuring production readiness, lean manufacturing, and regulatory compliance.
*Key Responsibilities*
*Process Design & Improvement*
* Act as a liaison between *engineering* and *production*, ensuring alignment on technical requirements and production capabilities.
* Review *engineering documentation* to ensure it aligns with the production process and correct any potential issues before production begins.
* Participate in *Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA)* and producibility reviews, providing recommendations to improve *manufacturability* and *production quality*.
* Maintain a strong technical understanding of *heavy equipment manufacturing processes*.
* Ensure all *manufacturing processes* comply with *health and safety regulations*.
* *Identify, procure, and install machinery and tools* needed for the production process.
* Investigate product defects or process inefficiencies and *implement corrective actions* to resolve issues.
*Manufacturing Information*
* *Create and maintain routings* for production processes to ensure accurate workflow management.
* Establish *manufacturing times and delays* for use in production planning.
* Ensure *BOMs (Bill of Materials)* are correctly structured according to manufacturing requirements.
* Maintain detailed documentation of processes, including *equipment manuals* and *safety procedures*.
*Lean Manufacturing & Layout Optimization*
* Apply *lean manufacturing principles* to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and streamline production.
* *Design and improve layout* configurations to enhance flow, optimize space utilization, and ensure health and safety compliance.
* Lead *productivity improvement projects* to enhance production capabilities and reduce costs.
*Soft Skills*
* Collaborate closely with various departments, including *engineering*, *production*, *planning*, *purchasing*, and *quality control*, to ensure smooth operations and alignment.
* Work directly with *suppliers* to ensure the best possible production outcomes.
* Demonstrate strong *problem-solving abilities* and flexibility to handle diverse tasks.
*Qualifications*
* *Bachelor?s degree* in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
* *Experience* in heavy equipment manufacturing or a similar field is required.
* Proficient in process optimization and the ability to apply *lean manufacturing* principles.
* Strong understanding of *manufacturing equipment*, tooling, and layouts.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
* Knowledge of *health and safety regulations* in a manufacturing environment.
*Preferred Qualifications*
* Experience with *DFMA* principles.
* Familiarity with *root cause analysis* and corrective action implementation.
* Proven ability to lead and manage *productivity improvement projects*.
