*Job Profile* *Job Title: Electrical Technician* Department: Electrical Revised: October 2024 *Job Overview* Tornado Global Hydrovacs is looking for Electrical Technicians in our Electrical Design and Engineering team. They will initially be involved in supporting our truck builders in performing and troubleshooting electrical installations, providing training and advice, and developing proper work procedures. New graduates in Electrical Engineering Technology programs are welcome to consider these positions, which may be open to others with related electrical training. Training will be provided, and familiarity with the complexities of heavy truck electrical systems is an asset in this work. The Electrical Assembly Technician provides technical expertise and guidance to the assembly floor team in troubleshooting electrical issues and ensuring proper installation procedures. This role involves working closely with production staff, engineers, and managers to ensure the efficient assembly of electrical components and systems. By supporting, educating and training Assembly Workers, the team is better able to deliver on a ?done-right-the-first-time? basis. Their work ensures that Tornado trucks meet the company?s high standards and customers receive the quality vehicle they have come to expect. Our employees respect the processes and procedures that we have put in place, and we in turn value the contributions and improvements they can offer within that framework. *Relationships* Reports to: Supervisor-Electrical Department, Senior Lead-Electrical Department Supervises: None Internal Contacts: Assembly Workers, Material Handlers, Engineers, Inspectors, Testers External contacts: Equipment Suppliers, Truck Manufacturers *Key Responsibility Areas* *Electrical Troubleshooting:* · Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems that arise during the assembly process. · Analyze circuitry, wiring, and electrical systems to identify and resolve issues promptly. · Collaborate with the assembly team to find practical solutions to complex electrical problems. *Software Installation and Configuration:* · Uploading software and firmware to control panels, HMIs and wireless systems. · Parameter configuration of Heavy-duty truck chassis, engines and transmissions. · Refinement and/or calibration of control systems. *Guidance in Installation:* · Provide guidance and supervision during the installation of electrical components and systems. · Ensure that installations comply with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations. · Train assembly floor staff in proper installation techniques and best practices. *Process Improvement:* · Identify areas for process improvement in the assembly and installation procedures. · Collaborate with engineers and other departments to develop and implement more efficient and effective assembly methods. · Conduct regular evaluations of current processes and recommend changes to enhance productivity and quality. *Quality Assurance:* · Perform quality checks and tests on electrical assemblies at various stages of production to ensure they meet company specifications and standards. · Implement quality control measures to minimize defects and rework. · Work with the quality assurance team to address any recurring issues and implement preventive measures. *Documentation:* · Maintain detailed records of troubleshooting activities, installation procedures, and solutions implemented. · Create and update documentation related to electrical assemblies and installations. · Prepare reports on the performance of electrical systems and recommend improvements. *Collaboration:* · Collaborate with design engineers to provide feedback on the design for ease of ass- LocationRed Deer, AB
