Posting: 1.0 FTE High School Wood Workshop Instructor <p>Location: Father Patrick Mercredi Catholic High School <p>Contract: Until December 2024 <p>Hours/Shift: Monday to Friday; 35+ hours/week <p>Start Date: As soon as available <p>Closing Date: Open Until Filled <p>Job Qualifications: <p>The Fort McMurray Roman Catholic Separate School Division is seeking an innovative High School Wood Shop (carpentry) Instructor for the 2024-25 school year at Father Mercredi High School until December 2024.<p>We offer a competitive remuneration package including Alberta Blue Cross, Health Spending Account and Life & Disability Insurance at no cost to the employee, plus:<p>· Core Values that focus on Persons, Community, Responsibility and Learning,<p>· Vibrant, supportive and diverse schools,<p>· Commitment to Indigenous learning and engagement with our local Treaty 8 community,<p>· Industry leading sports, STEM, and Fine Arts Programs,<p>· Fort McMurray Allowance of $1040 per month.<p>Requirements | Responsibilities: <p>· Technical Diploma or journeyman certificate in area related to the assignment; Red Seal Carpenter is preferred,<p>· Strong relationship building skills,<p>· Flexible and adaptable,<p>· Organized and able to meet deadlines in accordance with the school schedule,<p>· Commitment to education and excited to work with students each day,<p>· Strong computer literacy and fluent with emails, internet, Microsoft and Google applications,<p>· Experience working in technical field related to assignment,<p>· Maintain materials, tools and supplies inventory,<p>· Ensure shop is in good working condition for instruction,<p>· Prior instructor experience is considered an asset.<p>The successful candidate will be required to provide a Criminal Reference Check and a Vulnerable Sector Check. FMCSD may contact past and present employers for references.
