The Speech Language Pathology Assistant position assists students with speech, language, voice, fluency, cognitive communication, or swallowing difficulties. They carry out treatment programs that are planned, directed, and supervised by speech-language pathologists.Dates: As soon as possible Qualifications: Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrating ability to work as part of a team, establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, school division staff and the general public.<p> Ability to conduct oneself in a manner appropriate to a school division and demonstrate strict attention to confidentiality of school division operations and information.<p> The required knowledge, skills and abilities are obtained through successful completion of a Speech Language Pathology Assistant diploma coupled with sufficient training and/or experience to provide assistance of occupational therapy programs as required in a school-based setting.<p> Must possess a valid drivers license and/or the means and ability to travel extensively throughout the Province of Saskatchewan.<p> Knowledge of occupational therapy assistant strategies and interventions.<p> Knowledge of instructional accommodations and technology for promoting appropriate student motor skills. <p> Ability to collaborate and consult with other service delivery professionals to meet students needs.<p> Knowledge of and ability to effectively demonstrate adherence to the ethics and standards of professional practice in the delivery of school speech language services and the relevant laws and policies that govern professional practice.<p> Knowledge of Microsoft Office, email, internet and related software and the ability to use the software effectively to perform various duties.<p> Ability to be flexible and adapt to changes in daily routine.<p> Ability to adapt and support changes in the workplace due to changes in policies, legislation or school division needs.<p> Ability to work independently with minimal supervision by demonstrating sound judgment, discretion and decision-making skills to ensure quality of work meets expected standards.<p> Ability to work collaboratively as a member of the division student services team.<p> Excellent organizational and time management skills.<p> Ability to communicate effectively in English and the ability to understand, develop, convey, and carry out oral and written instructions.<p> Ability to exercise good judgment, discretion and tact in dealing with staff, members of the Board, and the public.<p> Ability
