Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Commercial dental laboratory. Tasks: Prepare plaster models and moulds. Cast gold or metal alloys for bridges and denture bases. Perform administrative functions for the dental laboratory. Technical expertise (dental): Plastering. Casting. Polishing. Area of specialization: Crowns and bridges. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Tight deadlines.
