INTERNAL/EXTERNAL POSTING <p>October 10, 2024<p>THE RENFREW COUNTY DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD is seeking a <p>TEMPORARY INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT MECHANIC - MILLWRIGHT <p>Come join our dynamic team and play a role in helping students develop a passion for the Trades. LOCATION: <p> RCDSB Plant Department (Renfrew Collegiate Institute, Pembroke Plant Department or Opeongo High School - location dependent on candidate preference) with frequent travel throughout the County. <p> SCHEDULE: <p> 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week - 12 months per year. <p> Condensed work week may be possible. DURATION: <p> One (1) year term (with possibility of extension) RATE OF PAY: <p> Group 10 - $37.50 per hour (inclusive of a $5.34 per hour market adjustment allowance)(plus 4% vacation pay) <p> POSITION<p> SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Plant Foreperson and/or Facilities Manager, the Millwright diagnoses, maintains and repairs equipment, including machine guarding, in technological studies classrooms, including a variety of motors, compressors, mechanical and hydraulic equipment, ventilation systems, and domestic appliances, in assigned schools or other Board facilities. <p> EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Grade 12 education or equivalent and a valid trade Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Equipment Mechanic - Millwright (433A); <p> Four (4) years of related experience; <p> Class G drivers license; <p> Experience in fabrication and/or machining would be considered an asset; <p> Familiarity with auto, woodworking and metal fabrication shop equipment would be considered an asset. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: <p> Must be able to prepare written reports, defect lists and other correspondence relating to the job as required using E-Base Maintenance Management Software; <p> Must be familiar with the current, applicable Occupational Health and Safety Act of Ontario.; <p> Must possess a complete knowledge of WHMIS and SDS for materials used; <p> High degree of mechanical aptitude with demonstrated mechanical skills; <p> Good working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics and other related maintenance skills; <p> Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with partners.
