*Job Title: Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic* *Location: East River, Nova Scotia* *About Us* Maibec CanExel, a division of Maibec Inc. headquartered in Québec, has been a trusted leader in prefinished siding for over 55 years. Our East River facility, located just outside Hubbards, Nova Scotia, employs approximately 165 people. We manufacture high-quality, durable exterior siding, with a commitment to excellence. Our location is easily accessible, just 1 minute off Exit 7 from Highway 103, with a 30-minute commute from Bayers Lake or Bridgewater. We are currently seeking a *Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic *to join our dynamic Maintenance team at our East River facility. *Position Overview* As a Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, installation, assembly, and modification of heavy equipment to ensure optimal uptime, quality, and production. You will work with equipment such as log loaders, forklifts, trucks, trailers, and more. *Rate of Pay*: $37.83/hour *Benefits* Maibec CanExel offers a comprehensive benefits package, including: * Health and dental plans * Short- and long-term disability insurance * Life insurance * Employee & Family Assistance Program * A generous retirement plan with company contributions up to 5.5% of your earnings *Key Responsibilities* * Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, as well as repairs, on heavy equipment (log loaders, forklifts, trucks, trailers, etc.) * Diagnose equipment malfunctions and faults, utilizing testing equipment to determine the required repairs * Clean, grease, and conduct routine services on all company equipment * Maintain accurate records of daily tasks and materials used * Complete daily job hazard assessments * Report damaged or faulty equipment to management * Maintain a clean and organized personal work area * Support and encourage continuous improvement in work practices * Perform other duties as required * Willingness to work overtime and comply with plant safety rules and regulations *Qualifications* * *Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic *certification * Must have basic tools and the ability to acquire additional tools as needed * Physically fit and able to climb, crawl, and work in confined spaces * Strong safety record * Willingness to participate in trade-related training and upgrading * *Nova Scotia G-5 Gas Operator License* (an asset but not required) Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $37.83 per hour Benefits: * Casual dress * Company pension * Dental care * Disability insurance * Employee assistance program * Extended health care * Life insurance * On-site parking * Vision care Schedule: * 8 hour shift * Day shift Licence/Certification: * Red Seal - Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic (preferred) Work Location: In person- LocationEast River, NS
