Maibec CanExel has been in business for over 55 years and has a workforce of approximately 200 employees in our East River facility. Maibec CanExel is located in East River, Nova Scotia (just outside of Hubbards). The location is 1 minute off Exit 7 from Highway #103, making it an easy commute of approximately 30 minutes from Bayers Lake or Bridgewater. Maibec CanExel is seeking an *Industrial Mechanic *to join a dynamic team in East River, Nova Scotia. Industrial Mechanics are part of the Maintenance team who maintain, repair, install, assemble and modify equipment. The rate of pay for this position is *$37.83. * Maibec CanExel offers a comprehensive benefits package including health and dental plans, short term disability, long term disability, life insurance, Employee & Family Assistance Program and a generous retirement plan with a maximum company contribution of 5.5% of your earnings. *KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:* * Maintains, repairs, installs, assembles and modifies equipment * Lubrication of machinery, seal replacement, cleaning of parts during overhauls and preventative maintenance * Reads and creates blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures * Enter work requests and order parts and materials with CMMS * Troubleshoot, adjust, and repair equipment as required * Complete, help develop and improve PM?s in the area of responsibility * Aligns machines and equipment * Assembles machines * Install, repair and maintain plumbing and piping * Install, repair and maintain airlines, pneumatic and hydraulic systems * Welding, cutting and fabricating * Maintain and monitor equipment using predictive and preventive techniques. (Vibration analysis, stethoscopes, strobe lights and thermal imaging) * Train and mentor apprentices * Actively participate in EHS Programs * Maintain housekeeping of the assigned areas * Participate in improvement projects * Perform other duties as required *QUALIFICATIONS:* * Red Seal Industrial Mechanic * Knowledge of equipment maintenance. * Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time, climb, bend, stoop, squat and lift. * Ability to work in confined spaces and at substantial heights * Ability to work in a team environment * Time management, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills. * Good communication, interpersonal skills and writing skills. * Demonstrated coordination and mechanical ability. * Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations. * Good problem-solving ability * Intermediate computer skills * Willing to take training courses for trade upgrading _All offers of employment are conditional on successful completion of a background check and pre-employment medical testing._ Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $37.83 per hour Benefits: * Casual dress * Company pension * Dental care * Disability insurance * Employee assistance program * Extended health care * Life insurance * On-site parking * Vision care Schedule: * 12 hour shift * 8 hour shift * Day shift * Night shift Licence/Certification: * Industrial Mechanic Red Seal (preferred) Work Location: In person- LocationEast River, NS
