Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry. Work setting: Willing to relocate. Private practice. Tasks: Diagnose dental diseases . Examine patients' teeth, gums and surrounding tissue. Instruct patients on oral hygiene . Restore, extract and replace diseased and decayed teeth. Supervise staff. Design bridgework, fit dentures and provide appliances. Write fabrication instructions or prescriptions for use by denturists and dental technicians. Act as consultants to other dentists. Supervision: 5-10 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : National Dental Examining Board of Canada Certification. Area of specialization: Orthodontics. Prosthodontics. Security and safety: Eligible for professional liability insurance. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Fast-paced environment. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Ability to distinguish between colours. Repetitive tasks. Work under pressure. Physically demanding.
