*Position Overview:*
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the financials of multiple entities, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, financial reporting, and compliance. You will play a critical part in maintaining the financial health of our portfolio, which includes a variety of commercial, residential, and retail properties.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Manage full-cycle accounting for multiple individual companies within the property management portfolio.
* Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
* Oversee accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely processing of payments and collections.
* Handle bank reconciliations, payroll, and general ledger entries.
* Manage budgets and assist with financial forecasting.
* Ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations and filing requirements.
* Liaise with property managers to track expenses, monitor lease agreements, and handle any accounting discrepancies.
* Assist in the preparation of year-end audits and tax returns.
* Support the company?s financial planning and strategy initiatives.
*Qualifications:*
* CPA designation or equivalent experience preferred.
* Minimum 3-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the property management or real estate sector.
* Strong understanding of property management accounting, including lease tracking and cost allocation.
* Proficiency in accounting software (experience with Yardi, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar software is an asset).
* Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Ability to manage multiple entities and prioritize tasks effectively.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of Alberta property tax regulations and financial reporting requirements is an asset.
