Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Outdoors. Work setting: Urban area. Various locations. Tasks: Hire, supervise and schedule staff. Organize planting of trees, gardens and lawns. Plan and estimate labour and materials. Organize and direct construction of decks and decorative or retaining walls. Plan, manage and supervise landscape construction work. Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies. Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Perform same duties as workers supervised. Supervision: 3-4 people. Area of specialization: Landscape construction. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Vehicle supplied by employer. Public transportation is available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Judgement. Team player. Dependability. Reliability.
