Cement processing plant. Steel mill and metal processing plant. Thermal plant. Water treatment plant. Installation. Service company. Tasks: Plan sequence of operation. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Develop templates. Instruct apprentices. Lay out patterns. Lay out plate, sheet steel and other heavy metal and mark lines. Supervise other workers. Set up and operate heavy-metal working machines to cut and shape metal into parts. Fit and weld parts together. Repair and maintain boilers and heavy-metal products. Fit plate or sheet steel work. Perform informal inspections of completed welds. Install fuel channels. Repair or replace defective pressure vessel parts, such as safety valves or regulators. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Boilermaker Trade Certification. Occupational Health and Safety Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate. Welding techniques: Oxy-acetylene. Gas metal ARC (GMAW) (MIG). Gas Tungsten ARC (GMAW) (TIG). Electric ARC. Plasma ARC.
