Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions. Drive lighter, special purpose trucks. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Perform preventive maintenance. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : AZ class license. Commercial Vehicle Operator's Registration (CVOR) Certificate. Documentation knowledge: Accident or incident reports. Driver logbook. Maintenance and repair reports. Trip reports. Type of trucking and equipment: Tractor-trailer. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Sitting. Weight handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs). Personal suitability: Reliability. Team player. Hardworking. Patience.
