Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. Work site environment: At heights. Noisy. Dusty. Work setting: Construction. Various locations. Renovation. Commercial. Industrial. Institutional. Tasks: Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware. Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites. Supervise other workers. Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments. Erect scaffolding and swing stages and attach rigging. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Carpenter Trade Certification. Working at heights training. First Aid Certificate. CPR Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Fall Arrest Protection Training Course. Apprenticeship training: Level one apprenticeship training. Type of heavy equipment operated: Industrial lift trucks and fork-lifts. Area of specialization: Siding. Security and safety: Criminal record check.
