*Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Jr. Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service and a strong background in kitchen operations. As a Jr. Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Sous & Head Chef in managing kitchen staff, ensuring food quality, and maintaining high standards of food safety. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills while contributing to a dynamic restaurant environment.
*Duties*
- Assist the Sous & Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation in the kitchen.
- Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate their activities to ensure efficient operations.
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Monitor food quality during preparation and presentation, ensuring consistency and excellence.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques, food handling, and safety practices.
- Collaborate with the Sous & Head Chef on menu development and special events.
- Assist in inventory management, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
*Skills*
- Strong background in food service with experience in a professional kitchen environment.
- Proven leadership abilities with experience in supervising and managing teams.
- Excellent cooking skills with knowledge of various culinary techniques.
- Familiarity with restaurant management practices, including inventory control and cost management.
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety regulations.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with kitchen staff and front-of-house team members.
- Experience in bartending is a plus but not required.
