You are entrepreneurial and are motivated to build a family law practice. You value client experience and their trust in you.</p><p>You are someone who works to resolve matters efficiently but are also comfortable taking on litigation matters when out-of-court resolutions are not possible. You have at least 2 years of experience dealing with family law matters and are knowledgeable of the family law legislation and recent caselaw.</p><p>You are naturally self-motivated, a self-starter, and a clear communicator. You are detail-oriented, but still understand the broader context. You have a growth mindset and value being part of a team that focuses on growth and opportunity, where others see barriers or challenges. You crave continuous learning and achievement at a high level.</p><p>You are organized, efficient, and have excellent time management skills.</p><p><strong>Location:</strong></p><p>Flexible on an ongoing basis - remote work from home and/or hybrid.</p><p><strong>A glimpse of your responsibilities as a Family Law Lawyer at Shnier Mackenzie Law:</strong></p><ul><li>Independent and co-operative handling of files;</li><li>Advising clients of their rights and obligations regarding their family law matters</li><li>Drafting Separation Agreements, Marriage contracts, Cohabitation Agreements, Court Materials, etc.</li><li>Attending at court for Conferences, Motions, Trials, Appeals as necessary.</li><li>Managing a family law caseload and managing client expectations during the process.</li><li>Dealing directly with opposing counsel and clients.</li></ul><p><strong>The right candidate will value and possess:</strong></p><ul><li>The ability to work independently with independent carriage of files</li><li>A team-based approach to practice</li><li>Self-motivation and the ability to stay focused while working autonomously</li><li>Excellent, professional written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Excellent organizational skills</li><li>Positive and enthusiastic attitude and energy</li><li>Patience, foresight, and reflexive thought when dealing with challenges</li><li>Analytical thinking</li><li>Resourceful approach to practice</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think outside the box</li></ul><p><strong>Application Instructions:</strong></p><p>If you'd like to be cons
