Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Check products for correct shapes, dimensions and other specifications. Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment. Cut, bend, roll, ream, punch, drill, weld or otherwise shape and form metal stock into parts or products. Document work completed. Investigate problems to fix or make minor repair. Lay out, set up and operate one or more light or heavy metalworking machines. Operate presses or other forging machines to perform hot or cold forging to shape or form metal. Read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions. Select and transport material to work area manually or using crane or hoist. Operate plasma cutters. Place stock on shelves. Equipment and machinery experience: Drills. Punch presses. Saws. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Pressing machine. Metal forming or shaping operations experience: Bending. Cutting machine. Forming. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Public transportation is available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Fast-paced environment. Manual dexterity. Repetitive tasks. Standing for extended periods. Work under pressure. Weight handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Safety glasses/goggles. Steel-toed safety boots.
