Snowy Owl Sled Dog Tours is seeking to hire a full-time, Kennel Attendant. This position will have a schedule of 4 days on, 3 days off.
The applicant must be a Canadian citizen, or have a current working Visa that is valid until at least April 2025.

Having been established in 1983, Snowy Owl Sled Dog Tours is the founder, and the premier, dog sled touring company in the Bow Valley. As a family owned and operated company, it is our desire to share our passion for humane and ethical dog sledding with our guests. We are looking for a passionate, hardworking, organized individual, who excels at providing daily love, care and enrichment to our husky heroes!
We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-orientated Kennel Attendant to join our team and to care for our kennel of 180 husky heroes. Enthusiasm, dependability and a positive attitude are required! This person will help oversee all daily operations pertaining to the running of our kennel, as well as daily oversight to maintain proper care and safety of our dogs. The ideal candidate will love dogs, have breed knowledge, and make cleanliness and sanitation a top priority. Prior kennel management and veterinary experience will be given priority, but is not required. Experience working with multiple dogs, beyond personal ownership, is an asset. Will report directly to Kennel Manager.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, include but are not limited to*:
· Must be active, energetic, outdoor-loving with the highest standards in dog care.
· Communicate clearly, effectively and professionally with all staff.
· Possess general knowledge of breeds and animal behavior
· Work to ensure the highest standards of day-to-day operations are met or exceeded
· Maintain daily cleaning routines and maintain facility in clean, organized and professional manner
· Ensure all safety standards, procedures and protocols are maintained, including ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the entire kennel for all dogs and staff
· Maintain an inventory of supplies
· Monitor health of animals, and provide medications as needed
· Assist with special projects, events and promotions as needed
· Ensure proper use and maintenance of all building equipment, supplies and dog equipment
· Be a positive example to co-workers
· Be punctual and maintain excellent attendance
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
