Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Tasks: Measure and lay out reference points for installation. Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components. Coach and instruct apprentices. Measure, cut and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment. Provide customer service. Start up system and test for leaks using testing devices. Perform maintenance such as, recharging system with refrigerant, checking and testing regulators or calibrating system. Interpret gas codes. Handle, recover and store refrigerants. Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation or heat pump systems. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Trade Certification. Air conditioning and refrigeration systems: Rooftop (self-contained). Heat pump. Air motioning and circulation. Filtration. Built up (split system). Humidification and de-humidification system. Ventilation. Cooling tower. Security and safety: Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Vehicle supplied by employer. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Attention to detail. Manual dexterity. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Safety equipment/gear. Steel-toed safety boots. Safety glasses/goggles. Gloves.
