*POSITION MANDATE*
Responsible for the Project Management of designated projects, including fiscal planning, resource management, change management, scheduling, procurement, cost management and invoicing. Provides technical direction in support of project activities. Reviews processes and determines the optimum process for each client application. Trains and mentors junior professionals.
*REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES*
*Technical*
· Possesses an In-depth knowledge of safety standards, applicable safety equipment and is responsible to maintain personal safety, personal PPE and all other workers safety.
· Demonstrates quality workmanship of personal tasks.
· Practices strong communication and mathematical skills ? verbal and written.
· Actively participates in company safety program.
· Demonstrates creative and logical problem-solving abilities.
· Reads and understands electrical/instrumentation drawings, schematics, single line diagrams, etc.
· Understands equipment nameplates and ratings.
· Demonstrates familiarity with Canadian Electrical code, Use of Electricity in Mines, CSA and other applicable standards.
· Effectively communicates with co-workers, clients and suppliers.
*Project Management*
· Researches, learns and understands core business activities.
· Takes responsibility for the coordination, scheduling, completion and financial monitoring of projects.
· Possesses an in?depth understanding of change management and risk assessment systems.
· Develops project plans, schedules and estimates.
· Handles procurement requirements and documentation.
· Possesses an excellent understanding of project change management and risk assessment systems.
· Oversees project work including juggling team and customer timelines and monitoring the budget.
· Provides technical advice and guidance, with emphasis on safety.
· Liaises with the customer throughout the project.
· Manages inter-departmental communications and relationships in support of specific project needs.
· Completes own work safely and ensures safety standards are met.
*Oversight*
· Provides clear communication to supervisors, related project managers and other key staff.
· Has an in-depth comprehension of project budgets, project costs and resource plans.
· Takes responsibility for the issuing and tracking of purchased materials which may be required to complete a respective project.
· Provides technical leadership and mentorship to other staff.
*Sales/Customer Relations*
· Communicates with outside clients, suppliers and co-workers including reports, quotes, emails, etc.
· Promotes and sells complete company services to all clients.
· Assumes responsibility for verbal and written communication with outside clients, suppliers, and co-workers.
*EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE*
The position requires Completion of an Engineering, Technology, Apprenticeship, Journeyperson Program or equivalent education as well as 6-9 years of Project Management experience. Completion of Supervisory Training, Negotiation Training and Conflict Management Training courses is expected. A PMP Designation or equivalent would be considered an asset.
*ACCOUNTABILITIES*
· Self-motivated and demonstrates capability to manage multiple projects, both technically and financially, that may involve managing activities from multiple disciplines and departments and where the expected revenue is under $250,000 with minimal to no supervision required.
· Presented problems (e.g., process improvements, systems function optimally) are addressed effectively and documented where appropriate.
· The quality of work, decisions made and documentation submitted reflects the incumbent?s specialist qualifications.
· Peer reviews (e.g., manager review of the work) confirm expectations are met.
· Customers? feedback on projects and the incumbent is positive.
· Projects are delivered on time and on budget.
· Resources are efficiently utilized to minimize department overhead.
