Overview:
Kumon is currently the largest after-school program in the world with over four million students enrolled and counting. We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as an Office Administrator . As an Office Administrator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the overall operations and success of our Kumon Nanaimo-Applecross center. This is a part-time position .
*Responsibilities:*
*Operational Oversight*
* Manage day-to-day operations ensuring adherence to Kumon standards.
* *Administrative tasks, including scheduling, and maintaining center documentation.*
* Supervise enrollment, student progress tracking, and record-keeping.
* Maintain inventory and ensure resource availability for smooth operations*.*
* Handle inquiries from parents, students, and staff, providing excellent customer service.
* *Manage communication channels, including phone calls, emails, and in-person interactions.*
* Enter new students into the database
* Enter new parent emails into our email system
* Print and frame program completer statements and pictures
* Get student awards ready and labeled
* Make new student folders
* Keep the classroom organized and tidy (not deep cleaning but just things in order)
* Help answer simple emails about our class schedule or program
* Greet families, students, and new parents who walk into our center. You will make them feel welcomed and help answer any questions they may have.
* Keep the prizes and receptionist desk organized and stocked as well as help with arranging and putting folders onto our shelves.
* Helping the instructor and manager to plan employee social get togethers.
* Helping the instructors and manager to plan and prepare center events such as goal setting parties or award ceremonies etc.
*Team Leadership*
* Train, and mentor staff for optimal performance.
* Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
* Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
* Work closely with Instructor to develop and understand lesson plan and goals for each student in order to properly administer instruction individually
* *Support the hiring and training processes for new instructors and assistants.*
Coordinate staff schedules and assignments.
* *Provide guidance and support to instructors in implementing Kumon's teaching methodologies.*
*Parent and Student Engagement*
* Address parent inquiries and conduct student orientations.
* Monitor student progress and offer support as needed.
* Ensure exceptional customer service and resolve issues effectively.
* Organize and participate in parent-teacher conferences.
*Requirements:*
* Minimum high school diploma with background in Mathematics and English language.
* Strong verbal communication skills, intermediate written communication skills preferred.
* Experience in an educational setting or administrative role.
* Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
* Passion for education and commitment to student success.
* Bachelor's degree and familiarity with Kumon is plus.
* Hours
Mondays to Thursdays : 12:00 pm -7:00 pm
Fridays: 3:00 pm -5:00 pm
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.45-$18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 ? 25 per week
